The Row - Fall 2012 Collection

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen...

.....................................................................................

... have become popular house hold names,
not only for their younger acting selves, but now in terms of
being well-respected international designers,
as most of you will know.

Their luxury fashion label:

Was launched in 2009 with one simple aim:
To create the most luxurious, perfect T-shirt.
They took the name from the historic Savile Row,
(a shopping street in Mayfair, central London)
and offer a modern-day twist to old time classics...

The main thing for me about their label would definitely have
to be the handbags...

Taken straight from their site:

Fall 2012 Inspiration

THE ROW's Fall Winter 2012 presentation represents the journey of an American woman from day to night. Slightly irreverent, she plays with duality of season and time of day. She wears summer clothes in winter and daywear in the evening. The result is a relaxed and timeless elegance.

 .....................................................................................

Everything about The Row is always sleek, gorgeous and eye-catching!

And when looking at the new Fall 2012 collection,
it goes without saying that these ladies have
pure, raw amazing talent for fashion and style.
Consisting of natural beiges and camels, blacks and whites,
textures, sheers and beautiful angular yet feminine and classic lines,
this collection is gorgeous and perfect
in every sense... it also very much emphasizes the
personal style of both the girls in life, which is really great.
You can see that they put a lot of themselves
into their fashion brand.

See below for a few of my fav images
grabbed from their website
from the backstage and behind the scenes
happenings from their live show... which looked pretty exciting and romantic
itself ;)

enjoy!!

New South African fashion lable - Lily Bird

...... is the newest addition to YDE's list of local South African fashion designers.

Created by Jen Janse van Rensburg,
with the help and support of Jess Nicholson in 2009,
this little lable is 100% locally produced
(and a few of us in the industry know how tricky that can be....)
Which makes Lily Bird a very special brand
to get involved with.

Their Summer range was absolutely stunning...
all Paris-in-the-spring inspired, which is right up my alley ;)
And their new Winter 2012 range is proving to be just as gorgeous...

Follow them on Facebook here!

Or click the title of this post to go straight to their website for more info.

Keep a keen out in your YDE store for this fantastic new love!

Enjoy a few pics from their Winter 2012 collection below

Orla Kiely - Print Queen!

... is an Irish fashion designer, based in London.
She started out by doing Hat designs, and since then has moved on to other
unique excursions including kitchenware, stationery, fashion and even cars!!

Remember in the late 90's when laminating cloth went from
kitchy table cloths to handbags and even raincoats?
Yep... Orla Kiely pretty much started that trend :) Clever little pip!

Her business operates out of a three storey house in Clapham,
and her studio is situated on the middle floor, chosen specifically due to the amazing
light the room gets..... yep! Thinking like a designer ;)

When someone says the word "Orla Kiely" immediately the other
person is thinking "prints".

Orla's work is constantly on trend, and follows through from
her fashion to accessories... creating a complete outfit from one brand.
Pretty unique.

Her designs and prints are cute and clean, simple yet eye catching. Her fashion
denotes that of a innocent girl-next-door, everything is magical and well thought out
to say the least. I especially love her little
dropped-waist t-shirt dresses and her pieces
that include her scooped, loose peter-pan collars.... SO cute and summery!
Definately something the Fanning sisters would look good in... ;)

Below are a few of my favs from her S/S 2012 collection, but please do
go to her website to check out everything else she has to offer!!

shoulder pads and a gorgeous soft woollen material which really
gives it that vintage touch...

Prada Fantasy Lookbook - Spring 2012

Every season, PRADA...

...........................

... releases their incredibly anticipated Fantasy Lookbook!
This new season is made from a huge dose of nostalgia, mixed in with
collage-effect stunning images of the models backstage
at the runway show juxtaposed against fifty and sixty inspired
visuals, each telling its own story...

Mixed images of hot-rods, golfing, picnicking, the "space race"
and other "wholesome" past times make up this amazing Spring lookbook

Can someone say pure genius?

Prada has even put together a fun Motion Book
of their Spring Lookbook, which you can check out

These stills evoke such a pleasant feeling when you look at them,
it gives one the idea that love and care went into hand-rendering each
and every picture... to which there are quite a few,
I'll only be posting up my favs ;)

Just a reminder, I added a few of these to my Pintrest!
Follow me on Pintrest for other fashion inspiration... Just awesome
pics that I pick up every day as I browse the web

enjoy!

Alexander McQueen Fall 2012 - Paris

McQueen’s Cyber Luxe

Four seasons later as the  creative director for MCQ,
and just look how fantastic her Fall 2012 season is looking!!

A color palette of inky black, scarlet red, powder pink and ivory set the stage for the dramatic silhouettes of VOLUMINOUS mushroomy-flower-like shapes...

When I first saw these pics, I couldn't help but smile...
These dreamy evening fantasy dresses are so fun
and bubbly, and the techno visors and sleek silver space-age bow belts
add a quirky yet fun cherry-on-top!

I can only imagine how this show must have been live,
these garments must have had the most amazing movement
as the models waltzed down the runway!!!

And of course, not to mentioned the shoes-to-match!
Breathtaking... like everything else McQueen!!!

Take a look at the gorgeous pics below
and spread the McQueen love... as we should!!
