heart-throb:

Ruche is my new favorite online shop that's filled with
the most gorgeous collections of everything that a girl
needs in her closet... definitely a must-visit!

So everyone remembers The Notebook,
most girls favourite tear-jerker movie.
I think why we loves this one so much was because not only
for the beautiful and feminine fashion of that time, but for the raw romance
that the two main characters show on screen...

Valentines day isn't all about the sexy lingerie and chocolate and champagne
(for more on that you better go check out my post:

It's also about you, your partner and about cherishing the
love that you're lucky to have together...
And why not do that in the style and
sophistication that encompassed The Notebook? ;)

..............................

Above are four PERFECT dresses for Valentines day
that you can buy right now at Ruche! They have an entire section
entitled "Simply Smitten" that it choc-fulled of gorgeous attire

Pretty in Peplum!

Peplum for the People...

............................

Next to buttons and shoes, Peplums are the next
longest living things that exist in fashion... well at least it would seem :)

The word "PEPLUM" dates back to the 19th Century,
and simply means "tunic". Back then, a peplum was
an "over-skirt" that was usually attached to a slim fitted jacket:
..........
On February the 12th, 1947, Christian Dior shocked and pleased
the fashion world with what is now known as the "New Look".
His forward thinking designs won him the title of being the
first ever fashion designer to be pictured on the cover of TIME MAGAZINE
in 1957:

Christian Dior popularized the Peplum dress, and it is making a HUGE comeback for spring/summer 2012
fashion houses all over the world:

There are MANY different styles and interpretations
of the Peplum. If you read my blog often you'll know that
MODCLOTH.COM
is my number one go-to place for anything retro, vintage or
unique.
Look below for some amazingly gorgeous modern
updates of the peplum...

SAG Awards 2012 - Hair Trend

Braids and Plaits

..............................

seem to be quite popular at this years SAG awards.
Never mind the amazing dresses, what caught me was this
little lovely girly hair trend that was seen on a few of the famous faces...

To best create this vintage look, try not wash your hair for
a day or two if you can stretch it that far, as then your plaits will be
less "frizzy" and will hold nicely in place! Also,
if you're feeling like royalty like the ladies below, twist it around
your head to create a crown-like effect... there really is a million
different things you can do with your hair and plaits providing,
of course, that you have the length to do it!

But if not, fear not, there are plenty of shops that
sell hair pieces that can give you the same look :)

Gorgeous!
