Not Just a Denim Shirt

DENIM DENIM DENIM...

..............................................................

... it is nothing new to the fashion scene that DENIM,
our long standing always stylish fashion friend, is back for 2012.

Denim on denim, torn distressed denim and embellished denim is all the rage.
And denim shirts have taken over fashion blogs, lookbooks and stores with rage.

And it's a good thing too.
A standard denim shirt not only suits everyone, but can also be customized in so many ways to suit your individual look:

Pics from Weheartit.com!

Whether you cut off the sleeves, cut off the bottom to create a crop, paint
your own slogan on it, stud the thing up, distress it, dye it, bleach it, tie it in
a knot ... there are literally hundreds of creative things you can do to your average denim shirt...!

If you live in South Africa, you'll know that we're sliiightly (and not actually as bad as everyone thinks) behind the fashion times. However, I've dug around for some denim shirts that you can get your hands on today:

1. Kingsley Heath Denim Long Sleeve Shirt from Zando.co.za - R599

Love the little fold-up tabs at the sleeves...

2. Mens Acid Wash Denim Shirt from Mr Price - R119.99
(I find Mr Price doesn't have nice denim shirts for girls.. however since a denim shirt is a bit androgynous, a guys one will do... Just open those buttons and roll up the sleeves to make it sexy and cute)

2. Light Wash Denim Shirt from Mr Price - R119.99

This coloration is great for summer..!!

3. Levi's Western Shirt from 36 Boutiques - R799

4. Old Khaki June Western Denim Shirt with Elbow Patch from 36 Boutiques - R350

Alternatively, go scratch in you mom/aunt/grandpa's cupboard and you're BOUND to find something... ;)

ENJOY the never ending DENIM trend

Mr Price - Online Shop Launches Monday 30 July!!

MR PRICE...

.........................................................

... is our beloved go-to affordable South African store
for top trends and lovely shoes, accessories, jamies, undies etc etc.

Unfortunately, one thing about this store is that you have to continually go in to the shop
in order to bag yourself some of the top items as products tend to fly off the shelves...
SO after this in mind, you can imagine how DELIGHTED I was
to hear that Mr Price is now launching their official
on

MONDAY the 30th JULY 2012

YES!

Here's a sneak peak of what to expect, courtesy of the Mr Price Twitter group:

Quoted from the  IOL Mr Price Report:

"A recent study from MasterCard, revealed that online shopping had increased in SA and continued to show potential for growth.
The company's Worldwide Online Shopping Survey said that the number of South Africans shopping online had steadily increased over the past two years, with 58% of respondents in the survey of active internet users saying that they used the internet for shopping."

So GREAT news for us!

I for one am very happy that South Africa is moving forward in terms of being
little tech savvy online shoppers and think that this is a bold and fantastic
move for Mr Price.

EYES peeled on Monday the 30th of July people!

CAN'T WAIT

Amber Jones for Mr Price - June 2012

Amber Jones for Mr. Price...

...................................................................

If you live in South Africa, and love Mr. Price as I do,
then you'll be familiar with the "Project : Limited Edition" ranges that go
into selected stores.

Now Amber Jones is one of my fav, her designs really are on trend and very eye-catching!
From the 15 of June 2012 (so this should be in stores now then!) you'll be able to find
her NEW range :

EDIE & The It Girls.

Edie Sedgwick and Andy Warhol

Edie - American Actress, socialite, model and heiress --> April 20, 1943 – November 16, 1971

Quoted in an interview with ELLE (S.A) and Amber herself:

"‘I was really fascinated by sixties It-girls like Edie Sedgwick and Penelope Tree. Their brand of off-beat cool still has a massive impact on fashion decades later. Part of what I find so fantastic about them is that their style was never obvious or affected.’"

Amber Jones' Mood Board for "Edie and the It Girls"

What to expect? Besides from the beautiful Wintery jewel tones and beautiful retro prints, styles include dropped waists, over-sized coats and even a little peplum printed tee in the mix (which I LOVE).

The Melton Cape (for only R299!) HAS to be my fav from this collection tho....
I mean, which girls DOESNT want a CAPE?! Very Victorian 1800's kind of vibe but more updated.... too cute!

Keep close eye out on the Mr Price website (over here) for any more updates
on upcoming limited ranges... Otherwise take a look at the pics below
and Enjoy!!

Let me know if you buy anything...

XO
