McQueen Spring 2012...

... well well well, it seems that Sarah Burton has done it again. She really has
been having quite a remarkable year at the house of Alexander McQueen!

There's not very much to say that wont do the below images justice...

... can I be crass and say RETARDEDLY AMAZING????!!!!

From the colour combinations, the UNBELIEVABLE textures, and not to mention the gorgeous romantic slash futuristic waist pinchers: eeek!!!

as well as of course, the shoes... my god the shoes... *faint* everything that is coming out of McQueen for Spring 2012 is just totally amazing. Breathtaking to say the least...

I especially love their ad campaign, shot by David Sims featuring Zuzanna Bijoch, Zuzanna is an "ethereal vision" of romantic puffy powder pinks contrasted with Bloody passionate red.

Gorgeous...

Ann Demeulemeester - Pure Fashion Genius

Has officially dropped my jaw with her Spring/Summer 12 collection.

A little quote for you:

"Fashion is like rock and roll: there should always be a bit of rebellion."

It is apparent that she isn't afraid to take risks with her designs and concepts and through her clear passion for the darker side of fashion,
she has a huge following of Demeulemeester-adoring fans... me being one!!

Something interesting to note is there is never bold colours present in her ranges,
and instead of just simply playing with Black and White, she uses these two and their hundreds of hues as shadows in order
to add dimension and volume to her designs. 

Pure art if you ask me.

She also likes to work with natural materials like leather, wool, flannel, and fur, textures that you ache to touch and play with.
This really is no ordinary designer...
and her Spring/Summer 12 collection really is a f*cking outstanding

Spring = Under The Sea!

Spring 2012...

... sees a very apparent trend on the runway: Under The Sea

From Stella McCartney, to Versace, Armani, The Row, McQueen even... there
were loads of pearalized turq hues mixed in with shocking coral-reef-like colours, whites and creams,
not to forget shimmery silvery sequined and beaded bits to remind us of the sun bouncing off the ocean waves, the look of glistening sand against our skin on a warm summer day at the beach... siiigh

Prints are all mostly abstract, but all denote swirling water and all things oceanic.
Versace played around with shells and seahorses were studded onto pencil skirts... ooh! Pretty!

Givenchy included a shark-toothed necklace into his runway show, and my all time fav would have to be the pretty pearly Chanel large sea-shell clutch (see below)

I must say, the "under the sea" jig is slightly cliche, however I think this Spring has seen a real
creative and fresh take on this fantastical theme... Something new from ye'ol Spring means Floral, if you know what I mean...

Rock the Croc

Are you willing...

... to swop your snake skin for croc skin?

As leopard print shifts slightly to zebra, there's been

an even bigger shift from snake to crocodile!

In fact, it's been seen in huge brands this season,

including MaxMara, Diesel, Fendi, Stella McCartney and Cavalli,

to name but a few...

Paired with daring sheer fabrics and textured furs, 

the croc effect wasn't just seen in accessories, it was also

used as patterns by other designers...

Definitely a big trend to keep an eye out for :)

Alexander McQueen Fall 2012 - Paris

McQueen’s Cyber Luxe

Four seasons later as the  creative director for MCQ,

and just look how fantastic her Fall 2012 season is looking!!

A color palette of inky black, scarlet red, powder pink and ivory set the stage for the dramatic silhouettes of VOLUMINOUS mushroomy-flower-like shapes...

When I first saw these pics, I couldn't help but smile...

These dreamy evening fantasy dresses are so fun

and bubbly, and the techno visors and sleek silver space-age bow belts

add a quirky yet fun cherry-on-top!

I can only imagine how this show must have been live, 

these garments must have had the most amazing movement

as the models waltzed down the runway!!!

And of course, not to mentioned the shoes-to-match!

Breathtaking... like everything else McQueen!!!
