... There has to be something gorgeously personal about this label with a name like that, right?
For Love and Lemons is my new favorite find!! This
"Southern California
based lifestyle brand" has some of the most unique and gorgeous
designs...
This brand, founded by
Gillian Mahin & Laura Hall, got it's name
from when these two soul sisters started their VERY first business - a
Lemonade Stand! But as they say on their site, it was less about the
lemons and more about the love... Now you have to know how much passion
and love goes into this fashion label!!
Now that you know a little more about them, let's Que their Spring 2012 Collection:
DAY TRIPPER
Yet again, playing on the "Festival Boho Chic" Style, but with a little difference...
When you look through their lookbook, you notice a very definite
transition. Now I'm not sure if they planned it this way, but it seems
work pretty well! The lookbook almost tells a story of a girl going
through different "phases" of her wardrobe so to speak... We start out
seeing a very cute American-type girl next door in her whites, browns
and florals... Lots of brass and turquoise jewellery and little flower
headbands really take these few looks back to that almost "Red Indian"
feel.
She then goes through a bit of a 60's / 70's feel, noticeable by the silhouettes of the garments. This seems to the the middle ground between
the first phase and the third... (the 3rd being my favorite of course)
The Grunge Rocker.
Shifting into her 90's vintage grunge girl look, I absolutely LOVE the
black cut-out dress, the little lace shorts, the black floral bustier
and her smokey sexy makeup. All the while, her wide-brimmed hat and
brown boots with the brass and turquoise jewellery tie this entire
lookbook together beautifully.
